The Selby and Ainsty Liberal Democrats is a branch of the York Liberal Democrats. We are building support for the party in areas where we don’t currently have any councillors. We are always looking for new members, volunteers, and council candidates. We would love to hear from you whatever role you can play in helping us maintain and progress the Lib Dems in the Selby and Ainsty Constituency.

We are also working to build support in areas where we don’t currently have any councillors.

Our Branch Officers:

Chair – John Prewer

John has worked in IT throughout his career, starting in the days when a Computer occupied a whole building and lately has had a  focus on Smartcard Ticketing working with Northern Rail, First Bus, Stagecoach Bus, ATOC and Great Western Railway.  He has also worked locally on systems for Birse Construction, Barnsley Council, Sheffield Hallam University, Wakefield Council, Doncaster Hospitals and East Riding Council.  John has an eighteen-year-old daughter and his interests include space exploration and astronomy, photography, classic British sports cars, travel and sightseeing.  John has voted Liberal and Liberal Democrat consistently for many years, seeing them as the principled way of moderating the pendulum of extremes represented by the other mainstream parties

John can be contacted on john.prewer@selbyandainstylibdems.org.uk

Secretary – Caroline Rogerson

Caroline is a chemistry graduate who started her working life as a chartered accountant, but found she missed science too much and became a chemistry teacher. Prior to living in Selby and Ainsty she lived and worked in The Netherlands. A keen walker, kayaker, cyclist and birdwatcher she has two school age children who join her in the great outdoors. She joined the party following the Brexit referendum but has been a liberal for a long time.

Caroline can be contacted on caroline.rogerson@selbyandainstylibdems.org.uk
